Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a consultation fee for Dr. Weiss?

During your consultation you will visit with Dr. Weiss as well as his patient counselor. You will receive a great deal of information that will be valuable for your surgery even if you choose another surgeon. Dr. Weiss wants you to be as healthy as possible prior to surgery so that your post surgical experience will be expedited with nominal bruising and swelling. You will receive information for pre and post surgical health and nutrition as related to your specific surgery. The $150 consultation fee will be applied to your surgery if you schedule within one year of your consultation.

How can I view before and after photos?

You will be able to review photos during your consultation. No two people are the same and desired results vary from person to person. You will be treated as an individual when you come for a consultation, and Dr. Weiss takes time to know you and your expectations. We feel very strongly that you are entitled to a detailed description of the procedure (or combination of procedures) when you review his surgical photos. It is very difficult to give this level of interaction with photos alone. You are welcome to schedule a complimentary photo review appointment in advance of your consultation.

Can I finance my procedure?

Yes, you can finance a portion or the entire cost of your procedure. We offer financing, including 0% interest rate and extended payment plans with Care Credit. Our patient counselor can assist you with the process. We accept credit card (MC/Visa/AmEx/Disc), check, and cash as forms of direct payment.

Why select a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon?

Plastic surgeons are trained to perform surgery. It may sound obvious, but many people don’t realize that only some of the 24 medical specialties recognized by The American Board of Medical Specialties include surgical training. Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty.

Plastic surgeons are experts in both facial and body procedures. Board-certified plastic surgeons complete a minimum of five years of surgical training following medical school, including a plastic surgery residency program. In-depth training encompasses surgical procedures of the face and the entire body.

Plastic surgeons are trained to prevent and, if necessary, handle emergencies. A comprehensive education, including a sound foundation in anatomy and physiology, provides plastic surgeons with an understanding of all body systems-including ventilation, circulation, fluid and electrolyte balance-which is vitally important to patient safety.

Plastic surgeons’ training develops technical skill and aesthetic judgment. Experience gained during years of training in complex reconstructive surgery provides plastic surgeons with outstanding technical skills. Additionally, however, the continuous attention to form as well as function provides these specialists with a finely tuned sense of aesthetics-a unique qualification that is critical to the success of cosmetic surgery where judgments of balance and proportion are called upon.

Plastic surgeons have access to a wide range of potential treatments. Of all the different medical specialists, plastic surgeons have the training to offer their patients the entire scope of cosmetic treatment modalities. Their recommendations are not limited by lack of training or inability to obtain hospital privileges to perform complex procedures when necessary.

Because state laws permit any licensed physician to call him – or herself a “plastic” or “cosmetic” surgeon – even if he or she has not been trained as a plastic surgeon or has had no surgical training at all – prospective patients must select their doctor carefully. So before you go in for plastic surgery, make sure you’re seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon.

What is the difference between a plastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon and cosmetic surgeon?

As a general rule, the title Facial Plastic Surgeon signifies residency training in Ear Nose and Throat (Otolaryngology), and further training in Facial Plastic Surgery. A physician advertising as Board Certified in Cosmetic Surgery can have any background training, as there is no recognized Board Certification in Cosmetic Surgery. Only fully trained and board certified Plastic Surgeons have received a comprehensive education in all aspects of Plastic as well as Cosmetic Surgery.  I have been blessed to have trained in both Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery.  I am proud to be a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgery.

Do you perform a lifestyle type lift?

Yes.  The lifestyle lift is a patented name created by a corporation that contracts physicians to perform a “limited” facelift.  In my practice I perform extended, standard and mini facelifts.  Each patient has unique needs and facial structure that require an artistic approach to their facial beauty.
